We quite liked the TV-IP320IP cameras. The major downside to these cams is that they only offer 1.3MP resolution rather than the 3.0MP resolution found on the more expensive alternatives. For most domestic applications, this is more than adequate if you want constant monitoring paired with motion alerts.
Since these are Hikvision re-badges, the build quality is good, the cameras are rated as IP66 weatherproof, and they return a 720P stream over the PoE connection.
Remember that TRENDnet are a bit stingy, so you’ll need to make sure you have a PoE compatible router to run the cameras out of the box.
If in doubt, you can’t go wrong with this 8-port switch from TP-Link which has four powered PoE ports and will merrily run these two TRENDnet cameras.
If you have a NAS or micro server already, and are happy setting up cameras with PoE, these budget TRENDnet cameras would make a good quality and economical starter kit for home IP cam system.
